国际生物力学学会（ISB）执委；亚洲运动训练科学学会（AACS）副主席；中国老年学与老年医学学会运动与健康科学分会副主任委员；中国体育科学学会运动生物力学分会副主任委员；《Journal of Sport and Health Science》（SCI 收录）副主编；《Footwear Science》、《体育科学》、《中国运动医学杂志》、《医用生物力学》等期刊的编委。

先后主持国家级、省部级等课题20余项，美国NIKE总公司“全球合作研究伙伴”国际合作课题3项。发表科研论文百余篇（其中50余篇被SCI期刊收录），获发明专利10余项（美国专利1项）。获国家级教学成果一等奖、上海市科技进步一等奖等省部级以上奖项6项。

Dr. Yu Liu is Distinguished Professor and Dean of School of Kinesiology, Shanghai University of Sport, China. He received his B.S. at Beijing Sport University in 1982 and worked as a researcher in the Department of Biomechanics at China Institute of Sport Science from 1982 to 1987. After that, he went to Germany to pursue his Ph.D. in Biomechanics at University of Frankfurt. He did his post-doctor at the German Sport University Cologne during 1993-1994.

Dr. Liu’s research focuses on biomechanics of injuries, footwear biomechanics, neuromuscular control, etc. He has published over 170 peer reviewed articles and book chapters, given over 130 international and domestic lectures. He participated as Associate Editors-in-chief of Journal of Sport and Health Science, and served on the editorial board of several national and international journals, including Footwear Science, Journal of Medical Biomechanics, China Sport Science, Chinese Journal of Sport Medicine, etc. His research has been supported by large competitive grants, the Chinese Central Government and Shanghai Municipal Government, etc.

He is Distinguished Professor of “Yangtze River Scholar” awarded by the China Ministry of Education, Outstanding teacher in Ten Thousand Talent Program, and owned Special government allowances of the State Council. During three decades of teaching and researching in the field of biomechanics, he served as Vice President of Asia Association of Coaching Science (AACS), Executive Council Member of International Society of Biomechanics (ISB), Vice President of the Chinese Society of Biomechanics in Sports, Member of the professional committee of biomechanics in the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering.
